Our new Texmo taro's footvalve gets spoiled often. Any Idea why?

Dear all,

We recently installed a new Texmo tara jet motor 1.5 hp. Hose length 220ft. Within a month the foot valve got spoiled and we replaced it with a new one. Again within a month the new foot valve is not working. What is wrong? Any Idea?

Advance thanks

Update:

Hi,

It's a jet monoblock water pump. I mean the foot valve doesnt hold water as a result the pump runs dry. I have to prime it every time.

What are you pumping and what do you mean by spoiled?

Is the valve seat becoming pitted or otherwise losing its surface finish. Is the valve spring loaded or is it only activated by gravity.

I would suggest a valve with a soft seat of some sort of elastomer.
