Why have there been so many Abraham Lincoln movies in recent months?
First there was 'Abraham Lincoln, Vampire Hunter' (good movie by the way). Then there was the mockbuster 'Abraham Lincoln vs. Zombies' (haven't seen this yet, but hey, zombies!!). And recently, 'Lincoln' (2012 film). Why have there been so many Abraham Lincoln movies in recent months? Is it some sort of centennial, or the anniversary of Abe's death, anything similar, or just coincidence (with maybe producers spying on each other to get ideas)?

~ I think its more coincidence than anything. The two horror films probably got their idea from the other. They might have tried to rush it out to beat the other film.
Lincoln from Steven Spielberg was a great film. My favorite of 2012. That film was in the works for quite a while.
Some of the recent interest in Lincoln probably comes from recently published books on his life. Most notably, "Killing Lincoln" by Bill O'Reilly

Be cursed. You will suffer a lot and then the devil will ask your soul to bring with him to hell.
