Algebra1 help! Please!?

If I could get step by step help using numbers (not only words) that would be fantastic!

Write an equation of the line that passes through the given points: (Number 12) http://i39.tinypic.com/dvnjol.jpg

    Find the slope first.

    M ( slope) = y2-y1 / x2-x1

    =3-1/3 / 6-2

    = 2 1/3 divided by 4( 7/3 x 1/4 = 7/12

    .......................

    Find the y intercept

    Y = mx+b where m= 7/12, x= 6, y=3

    3= 7/12 (6) + b

    3 = 42/12 + b

    3-42/12 = b

    b = 2 30/12= 4 6/12 = 4 1/2

    y = 7/12 (6) + 4 1/2 ( equation)

    Bizarre numbers but that is how you do it. :)

    I think I did this completely wrong but this is what I did. Its been a few months since I reviewed this um okay

    to get the slope use change in y over change in x. so for both the points is gonna be like (x1,y1) (x2,y2) and you do y2-y1 over x2-x1 and that is your slope

    y2-y1(over)x2-x1= 3-1/3/6-2 =9/3-1/3(over)/6-2= 8/3(over)4 so 8/3 over 4 is your slope.

    to find your y intercept:

    take a set of points: (6,3) and put it into the equation. 6=x 3=y your equation is y-mx+b and b is your y intercept. since the slope is M, we found out the slipe is 8/3 over 4= 8/3/4 (to make it easier for me to type)

    Your equation is: 3=8/3/4(6)+b

    multiply 6 and your slope to get 48/3 over 24. then I divided that out to get 48/72 (now im not sure about this but I know the process is right)

    now you have this: 3=48/72+b now subtract 48/72 from 3 to get 168/72 and that is your y intercept. OKAY I THINK I DID ALL THIS WRONG BUT THIS IS WHAT I GOT

    y=8/3/4x+168/72. I think I did something wrong but I think that is the correct process. THis is what I learned this year grade 9 math but yeah its summer so i sort of forget...hope its correct and if not sorry!
