Electronic dog doors for a large dog. What's best?

I've got a lab who could use an electronic dog door as the winds out here make the regular dog door not very comfortable for us. It's really hard to find good info on these doors and I was hoping a satisfied customer could tell me what's good.

Not spending over $1K per Plexidoor. I saw PetSafe and High Tech but that's only three brands and I've heard some are electronic, some RFID, and might even be another way to get the "auto" ones to open.

This will go in a "people" door--cannot go in a wall or non-existent sliding glass door. Does need to be large (for a long-legged 55 pound dog).

Links appreciated.

I realize this will be over $100 for the door and that a special collar will be needed and could require pro installation. I understand the door I probably need could be more like $300, so I'm not expecting a $50 electronic door, but $500 and up is way too much.

Should be something more reasonably priced that works decently out there.

Do NOT tell me to Google or such. Been there, done that, looking for guidance from someone with actual knowledge about the product.

Wow, no help for you so far. One thing that occurs to me is to look for local contractors, possibly through a Petsmart or Petco or such, who install dog doors and see what they have available and what kind of warranty they offer. Especially in this economy, I think if a local businessman has to have some responsibility for the product quality he will carry something decent. You'll know the price up front that way. Also maybe someone in the pet stores would know of a good one to use.

I see ONLINE Petsmart has a fourth brand of dog door: Power Pet. That one is nearly $400, so that may be more than you want to spend.

That one says it works with ultrasound at Petsmart.

I'm also tolerating the flapping in the wind of the regular pet door. I've wondered if I should try a different type as well.

I even have 5 cats (have consistently lived in a multi cat kin) and 2 canines. in need of protecting your canines exterior continuously (that's unfair to the canines) there particularly isn't a answer different than choosing up the food. i will declare this--i'm 40 six years previous and characteristic consistently had cats. I grew up with a minimum of two at any given time and my mom grew up with distinctive cats. Cats do not might desire to have consistent get right of entry to to food. even while they are youthful. if your cats do not end their food while they consume (that's standard of cats that unfastened feed), %. up the bowls besides and placed them backtrack later. they are going to learn. on the suggestion of my vet, i recently converted the canned food in basic terms (there is not any evidence that dry food helps with their tooth). what isn't long previous in 10 minutes gets picked up until later. the 1st couple of weeks have been an adjustment, however the cats are on board with the ordinary now and and all is easily.

666 is given by isotope rays on wrist or forehead when people stretch hands to receive small plastic grey card (world passport). Police will chip and isotope ray people on highways. Food stores will isotope ray people too. Antichrist will also release prisoners to mark people. Reject 666 at all cost. If you're about to be marked, scream: "Lord, have mercy!" three times. Go hide with Orthodox Christians to escape 666.
