The Existence Of God!?
I am interested in your thoughts on this two part question.
a) If it was proved beyond any doubt whatsoever that God did not exist would the world become even worse that it is now with crime and hate becoming uncontrollable?
b) If it was proved beyond any doubt that God does exist would the world become a better place with hate, crime and war becoming a thing of the past, all faiths living together in harmony and the human race would become tolerant of each other?
Poseidon
I have to agree that is not possible to prove that something or someone does not exist.
Perhaps I should have said in part b) that if it were proved that God existed and there was a heaven where those who were deserving would go and have eternal life, would this make a difference?
With regard to 'Freethinking Liberal's' reply I do agree that many religions have their own idea of God and they worship him/her/it accordingly but I feel that if God does exist then no matter how this entity is worshiped it is likely to be one and the same.

I think it's very sad that if someone does not have faith they would want others to agree with them!
The mystery's of faith an GOD are beyond human comprehension.
Faith concerns questions which cannot be settled by evidence.
How can the universe create itself out of nothingness? Given the fact that the universe began to exist, it must have had a “cause” that originated it.Doesn't it make more sense to assume the existence of a Creation.
The question is tricky because it sneaks in the false assumption that GOD came from somewhere and then asks where that might be. The answer is that the question does not even make sense. It is like asking, “What does blue smell like?” Blue is not in the category of things that have a smell, so the question itself is flawed. In the same way, GOD is not in the category of things that are created or caused. GOD is uncaused and uncreated—He simply exists.
We know that from nothing, nothing comes. So, if there were ever a time when there was absolutely nothing in existence, then nothing would have ever come into existence. But things do exist. Therefore, since there could never have been absolutely nothing, something had to have always been in existence. That ever-existing being is what we call GOD ,GOD is the un-caused Being that caused everything else to come into existence. God is the uncreated Creator who created the universe and everything in it.
Life without GOD is like an un- sharpened pencil it has no point..
You can't see the wind, but you know it is there because you can see what the wind is doing. You can know that the wind is there because you can feel it.GOD is like the wind, you can't see him.

Hi there. Now, I don't want to offend anyone's beliefs at all, this is simply just my opinion.
So, God. Is there a God? Where's the proof?
Well, God isn't a human which makes him even more special, so because he isn't human he doesn't live here on earth, he is up in heaven. God isn't something to be proven, it is something to believe in.
If you don't believe in God, there isn't a God. If you do believe in God (in my case) there is a God.
There is no right or wrong, therefore it cannot be proven. It is something only you can prove to yourself. If you don't believe in God then you don't believe in God. No one will make you - it is entirely your choice.
A) If no one believed in God the world could change in a bad way. However, it might not change and stay the same, because it is a belief, so if you don't believe in God, there isn't a God? do you know what I mean?
B) The world would probably be a beautiful place, because everyone would be happy! I have to admit when I started believing in God, my life got better. I was more wise, and positive. And life then became more easier for me! So if everyone believed in God, everyone would be happy, positive and everyone wouldn't want to fight, cause war, damage ect. I think it would make a big difference if there was proved a heaven so people would be better people.
I hope I helped answer your question :)

If it was proved beyond any doubt whatsoever that God did not exist the world would not change anything. At the moment a large proportion of wars and civil disturbances are religious in origin. They will be replaced with other forms.
As for proving god exists... which one of the hundreds?

Through Satan God put sin in this world so if their was no God the world would be without sin we would not have crime and hate
if it was proved God did exist people would fight against God to get their independence from him,it would not be a better place.

God is not a being a peace. The fact that it doesn't exist is proved beyond a shadow of a doubt, yet people don't see that, so there's no "if".
If his existence would become fact, the world would turn to dust, as he is an abusive tyrant. **** God.

a) no
b) no
You have to remember - 'god' is just an aspect of religion, which was invented (and has been used) by opportunists to control people through fear and ignorance. It has been responsible for considerable pain, death, and suffering - but it is just the tool.
Even if you could categorically disprove the existence of 'god' (which would require 'god' to be defined in the first place, which nobody seems to be able to do), you would still have a world full of opportunists.
It would be like if you eliminated all guns - you wouldn't stop murder.

a - This is impossible, since nothing is disprovable. However, if belief in God was eliminated, I don't think there would really make much difference. People use God as a justification for their actions. Good people will continue to do good things and bad people will continue to do bad things, and they will find something else to use for justification.
b - It depends on the God. What if the god proved to exist is a deistic god... one who largely ignores our actions? What if the god is Satan, Kali, or Cthulhu... who views humanity as fodder and we may as well murder each other. You cannot assume that if we found 'god', it would be a loving and just god.

Even if the existence of God were dis-proven, most people would continue to live out their daily lives based on the principles of right and wrong that they grew up to embrace. Proof that god does not exist will not convince everyone. Many who use god as a crutch to get through their daily lives, would continue to believe in spite of proof to the contrary.

I can answer both questions with one answer;
I DON'T CARE IF THERE IS A GOD!!!
I'm Agnostic, which is becoming a religion of it's own, it makes no sense. I don't care if there is a god or not. I try to do what is, in my opinion, right. If they isn't a god I didn't waste my time singing praises to him. If there is he'll judge me on the help I gave others.

a) No. Belief in deities does not curb or inhibit anyone's behavior, nor does it promote good behavior, despite what religions would like you to believe.
b) No. People who firmly believe a deity does exist still commit crimes and acts of harm against others.
The world would be the same as it is today.
