This is huge, actually. I thought SECDEF Hagel had one of the worst appointment hearings for a cabinet official ever, but he was okay at the job. The problem is that he was brought in to shrink the military...and it's become apparent that's not what needs to happen right now.
If so, T-One Year until his tell-all autobiography comes out.

Resigning? I knew he was gone the week obama called IS JV and Hagel called them the biggest threat we've ever seen in the mideast...our dear leader only wants yes men.

It seems he and the Administration never got along so he resigned with their blessings, in the future I am sure the president will get a yes man rather than someone who looks at reality instead of the political agenda of the president.

Fired, not resigning. He did not sufficiently tow the Obama line to continue shrinking the military and withdrawing from the world.
