Solve for x, 1.5x-(e^x)cosx=0, accurate to 2 d.ps. Hint: to expand (e^x)cosx or use other mean. Thanks in advance.?

    1.5x-(e^x)cosx=0=>

    y=1.5x=(e^x)cosx

    what we to do is to find the intersection

    of

    y=1.5x ---------(1)

    y=(e^x)cosx-------(2)

    (2) is a periodic function & its amplitude

    is increasing=> there are infinitely many

    solutions of x.

    The smallest +ve solution I found is

    x=0.9863146...=>

    x=0.98631 is an answer accurate to 5
