Should I take AP English Language & Composition in 11th grade or not?
I'm afraid I'm going to have too much work to handle with AP Lang, and I'm not that great of a critical writer in the first place. I'm already in Honors World Lit this year with a B or B- in all my writings, and I think my writing is getting worst as the year progresses somehow. I'm really on the fence on whether to take AP or CP. My next year's schedule will look something like this:
(Cores)
Honors Chemistry
Honors Analysis
AP US History
(Electives)
AP Statistics
Accounting 2
Careers & Finance
Health/Phys Ed
Would AP Lang be a good fit for me or not? What's it even like?

I took AP Lang and I have to say - it's easier than you think it is. If you're the type of person who likes to analyze things, this class should be for you. This class is all about analyzing sentence structures, rhetorical devices such as anaphora, compound-complex senteces, etc. All you have to do is to define the sentence structures, bullshit about why the author uses them, what is the effect of that sentence structure and how would that help the author bring out the purpose of the text. For example, if they author says "my life is a mess," your job is to point out why the author chose that type of sentence and how does it effect the purpose and the audience. You don't get elaborate on the author's point - that's for lit - you're trying to figure out why and how they get there.
But overall, go for it. You seem like a good student; it's a real shame to get stuck in a classroom full of lazy bums who couldn't careless about school. If you have a chance to be in a higher position, why turn it down eh?
