What causes buffering when I'm trying to watch live streaming of a program?

99% of the time it's due to a slow connection. If your internet connection is fast, it's because the server is sending data at a slow speed. This happens when lots of people are watching the same stream (or other streams on the same server).

Either whatever graphical horsepower of your machine is powering it isn't enough and/or your internet is not fast enough. All depends on your internet and the graphics card or iGPU used in your computer.
