Axolotl tank gravel?
I'm getting 2 axolotls soon and ive set my tank up, sand on the bottom however I layered it over some gravel and bits of gravel have come on top. I don't know if that's a huge problem as it's mostly sand? Will that be okay for them?

At Buy-Axolotls.com we do not recommend that you use Sand and Gravel in your aquarium. Sand and Gravel is the number one killer of Water Dragons (Axolotls) because they will eat it and they will die from eating it. If you eat a cup of Sand or Gravel every day, do you think you would have a Long Life? Probably not.

If the gravel is small, they could eat it and it can cause problems if they do.
I have mine housed with very large gravel/river rock and they do just fine. The rock is too large to fit in their mouths.
Take out small gravel if you see it to be safe.

Take the gravel out all the way. I've seen my axolotls eat sand, I'd hate to see what they would do with gravel. THEY WILL eat anything
