Can Cardinal Creeper (Ipomea Horsfallie) be transplanted as an adult?
We have a mature Cardinal Creeper growing over an old Hills Hoist and need to remove the hoist to use the pipe. We don't want to kill the creeper however it possible we would like to transplant it to another area. We have heard that aerial layering may suffice and we are willing to do this if necessary. Is there any other way we can remove the plant without killing it? We live just north of Brisbane, have sandy loam but not a lot of rain.

I found this:

Sounds like you can get new plants through layering, But... if it was me, I'd wait until I'd achieved success with the new cuttings, before trying to transplant the original full grown plant.
Some of the impomeas will not transplant, others will transplant easily (think sweet potato)
