My pens are all suddenly running out?

I will be writing something and my pen will run out of ink partway through. Do you know what's causing it? And How to fix it? A quick drag across the margins will usually fix it, but it's happening to all of my pens, regardless of when i brought them, so it's weird.

Poor pens may appear to run out of ink if there are contaminants (hand cream, sweat, you name it) on the paper. Glossy or semi- glossy papers are worst.

Other pens may continue working regardless of contaminants.

Dip the pen filler in hot water to loosen up the ink, if it's a pall point. Old fillers can clog and not write. You need a nice fountain pen you can refill. Everyone needs to learn how to write with a fountain pen.

Buy a different brand of pen. I always try to get the Zebra brand, but there are other good ones.

One you have your new pens, throw ALL the old ones away. Then you won't be unpleasantly surprised by trying to use one that doesn't work.

writing tip down, keep then warm-ish, and have a look at the tip before you write.

Also, stop eating pop tarts when you're writing.
