Could it be Christians are weak at math?

Common tale is Jesus was killed, dead for 3 days and came back to life, right?

If JC was killed Friday afternoon, that leaves 9 hrs + 24 hrs for Saturday and then up maybe at 8 Sunday morning. That works out to 1.7 days. Not 3. If they can miss this simple thing, do they question anything else?

The three days are assumed as the sign of Jonah, who supposedly spent three days in the belly of a fish.

Don't blame Christians for that .. the Roman Catholics linked the Christian holy week

to the pagan fertility festival which is ALWAYS on the 3rd full moon after the northern

hemisphere winter solstice. "Good Friday" always has a full moon.

Jesus would have been crucified on the Thursday of that week. The Catholics thought

Jesus had to be taken down from the cross for the usual Saturday sabbath, which begins

from 6pm the evening before ... but what the Catholics DIDN'T know, was there were

also other sabbaths ~ The first and last day of other "holy convocations" (festivals) were

deemed to be additional sabbath days. according to Jewish law recorded in scripture.

The last day of the Passover festival was an additional sabbath day.

(This year Passover is from Tuesday 11 April to Monday 17 April - so both those dates

are sabbath days to the Jews)

No, you're just weak at hearing what we believe--and understanding the Jewish day, which is only 12 hours long.

Christians are weak at logic, too.

I agree with you, it is one of many falsehoods in Christian religion. Jesus did exist, but he was not born in December for example nor was he born in Bethlehem. There are many mistakes in the Bible, some of them fairy tales such as Jonas eaten by a whale. One believes what one wants!

You might be the most ignorant person on here :

Answer: In terms of reckoning of days, your implicit premise is too strict by biblical standards. The text, in saying “days,” does not necessarily mean 72 hours exactly. The Lord was in the tomb for one whole day and parts of two others. The ancient Jews were comfortable in reckoning partial days as a whole day. Thus, the concern for three days is addressed by understanding that “day” does not necessarily mean three whole days, and the ancient Jews (or Gentiles for that matter) would not have the concern you express here.
