Physics behind Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation s plane scene as Hunt is hanging off the airbus a400m?

Okay, so I have to prove or disprove a movie scene s physics and I chose the above scene. Obviously, I m disproving the physics behind it and I was thinking of doing forces, tension, and wind pressure, stuff like that. I was just hoping for a little assistance.

    Obviously you're disproving it? What makes you think it's impossible? I think it could be possible.

    I would start by assuming the surface he is holding onto is not sharp, and is such that grip force is the limiting scenario.

    Then you could figure out what the drag force is on him when the plane is at full speed and height. This would be the maximum force, or within the same order of magnitude. This could be done by simply looking at the angle he is at, and determining forces similar to how you would analyze rope tension in a pendulum. After that its just a matter of determining whether the actual tensions is larger than what a human can withstand.

    I doubt you want to start looking at pressure and other things, but if you do, you can start by looking for the drag coefficient equation, and drag coefficients for a human in that orientation. Then you would want to divide it by two, since only half of him is exposed to the flow. (OR leave it as is, to be conservative.)
