Have any of you noticed that many bicycle manufacturers are only selling online lately?

Update:

I'm wanting a steel road bike. I want to look at and test ride a Raleigh Clubman Disc, but every shop that I go to that says that they carry Raleigh, only order them online. I've gone as far west as Greensboro, NC, as far south as Fayetteville, NC, as far east as Nags Head, NC,and as far north as Emporia, VA from where I live in NC.

Move to St. Louis. I can't remember what frame sizes he has in stock. But Karl at A&M bicycle has 2 in stock. That's where I bought mine. And the 2016 model has been drastically reduced in price. https://www.raleighusa.com/clubman-disc-1879

Sadly, only the 56cm size is still available. But the specs on the 2015 & 2016 models are much better than the 2017 model. 10 speed Shimano Tiagra vs. 9 speed Sora? No contest. But the 2017 is still a good buy at $799.

Just about all the major brands are now offering online sales. But most will ship to a local bike shop only. Hint on either the 2016 or 2017 model. The o.e. saddle is OK with padded cycling shorts. But terrible without them. I opted for (what else?) a Brooks B17 Standard.
