My sister claims that water is scratching her glasses. Is this true?

My sister says that sometimes after she drys her glasses there's suddenly a new scratch.

She's convinced that it's the water doing it, but I don't think it is.

So, can water scratch glasses?

Please correct any mistakes you might find

Unless the water is highly corrosive, under extremely high pressure or full of gravel - no the water isn't scratching her glasses.

It's more likely she's drying on them something that is leaving scratches.

Maybe on the cloth or towel she is cleaning them with there is sand.

No but if there is grit in the cloth that she uses that will do it.

No. Water can't scratch anything. If she's drying them with a paper towel that might explain it.
