Why is it important to determine NPK in soil samples? Soil pH?

    All I can tell you is that some plants don't thrive in acid soil. For example, if you were planting under pine trees, they drop needles and make an acid environment below, so you need to choose plants that are not going to hate that. It helps to know that when you plan a garden, otherwise it's expensive to buy the wrong plants and have to move them.
