Guarantees no recidivism. It is the only thing to guarantee that.

against, if someone did something so horrible that they would get the death penalty, I would rather have them behind bars all their life so they would suffer more

I'm not really for it. I feel that, if you kill someone(s) you are either mentally unstable, or you were angry. A lot of our serial killers had mental disorders, and really could have benefited from professional help. I DO believe they should go to jail for a VERY long time. But I think instead of the death penalty, they should go through rigorous psychiatric treatment.

    Yes.

If life is sacred then the ultimate crime, killing, should have the ultimate penalty.

    Against.

Not for moral reasons; I am against it because the fact is that the lawyer fees the state has to cough up to go through all the appeals involved in death penalty cases dwarfs the cost of just keeping that person in jail for the rest of their life. If both life in prison and the death penalty have the same desired outcome (i.e. removing a dangerous person from society), then I think we should go with the option that is less of a burden on the tax payers.

For, I see no point in housing and maintaining criminals indefinitely.

Yes. An eye for an eye and a head for a tooth.

The death penalty must remain. A person who just loves to kill has no reason not to kill other inmates or guards if there are no consequences because he has been sentenced to several life terms with no chance of parole.
