I'm thinking of joining the military should I join the 82nd airborne or 10th mountain division?

If I had to make choice again in would be 10th Mountain. Harder work, but if you enjoy climbing and skiing there is not better place.

You can enlist with the option of going to the Airborne School if you complete AUT or OSUT. If you complte Airborne School successfuly, you may be assigned to the 82nd. but you don’t have a choice, the Army decides. The only choices you have is to request a specific post.

EDIT: however, Ft. Drum is a destinct possibilty as next to noone wants to be assigned there.
