Am I being a petty friend?

I went to Paris for my birthday and paid for my best friend ticket and mine. Her ticket was 800 dollars. She paid for the hotel and it was 900 dollars. She told me when her birthday comes around she would pay for the whole trip because I paid for her to go Paris. Anyways Now it’s her birthday and she wants to go to Vegas. She doesn’t make a lot of money as a stripper so I paid for my own ticket. the hotel came up to 600 dollars and we are splitting it between 3 girls. I feel like I should only have to pay 100 dollars towards the hotel because when it was my birthday I paid for her ticket and never asked for the money back. Her argument is the fact that I make way more money than her. Am I being petty

    I see it two ways.

She shouldn’t expect you to pay extra money because you make more.

And if you buy someone something as a gift, you can’t hold them to the same standards and expect anything in return.

Personally, I wouldn’t want to keep someone up in fancy trips to begin with. If she can’t afford it, then she can’t afford. Adults don’t do things we can’t afford. We save up like normal people and then go enjoy our trips.

And my advice to you, is to stop doing that all together. And if you choose not to, understand that you can’t hit her with the “well I paid last time so...” because it’s not gonna work that way.
