19 years old could I have cancer in my colon?

I want to start off by saying my family has no history with colon cancer at all. Recenty (the past 2 weeks) my colon has been backed up with stoole. I go to the bathroom at least once a day still, but my stooles recently have gotten smaller. I’ve also been having abdomen pain, which started on my right side, but has moved to my left abdomen right below the ribs almost. It started to hurt after I twisted my stomach yesterday. I have had no signs of blood in my stoole. I’ve had ct scans on my abdomen and blood work done, but never have had a colonoscopy done. is there a chance it could be colon cancer?

It's very unlikely. From your description, it sounds like you have impacted stools. Go get a colonoscopy to check that out. Then, began working on your severe constipation by drinking warm lemon water, eating more fiber, and getting exercise. You might even have to use some laxatives and stool softeners. It sounds like you eat the wrong foods, so leave off bread and pasta, and eat fresh fruits and vegetables.

Drink more water, and less fizzy sugary garbage, and eat more leafy vegetables.

At your age, it's not likely that you will develop colon cancer. It's most common in people over 45 years of age. Symptoms: There usually are none. My son was diagnosed with colon cancer when he was 50 years old, and he had absolutely no prior symptoms. It was discovered during a routine baseline colonoscopy that his health insurance was willing to pay for only because he was of the age when colon cancer is most common. His doctor thought it had probably been present for at least two years.

If you want to put your mind at ease, you can go ahead and have a colonoscopy, and pay the 1000's of dollars that it's going to cost you out-of-pocket. Your health insurance probably won't pay for it because it would be purely elective on your part. Your doctor hasn't ordered one and none of your CT scans have indicated any suspicion of colon cancer.

Very unlikely since there is no history in your family*. Besides more water in your diet, do you have enough fiber???? If in doubt about your diet, start taking Metamucil - doctor put me on it years ago - just one dose a day which keeps everything "on the move".

    * I started having bloody stools when I was 17 (!!!!). Doc found a lot of polyps; took a number of visits to have them all removed . . . as you can imagine, I've been going in for check-ups ever since. BUT colon cancer kills just about everyone in my maternal grandmother's family (including her) . . . . it's not a nice way to go, so like me - you should see Doc, make sure everything is OK then adopt a few basic, easy diet standards so you don't have to worry about it.
