Why are these American people so interested in the royal family, do they realise they had a lucky escape..?

I don't follow the generational psychopaths myself ...

They realise their own country will never have such a diabolical regime, so they look to other countries.

Fairy tales are fun fantasy, and the royals live in gilded castles, throw magical fancy balls, and have a cushy.life, even though most people wouldn't like the invasion of privacy.

It's just plain entertaining escapism, to read about the duchess Megan Markle, Harry, and Prince Charles and the queen.

It's extremely easy to look up to somebody if you don't have to deal with them personally.

Americans don't need to suffer the drawbacks of the royal family, such as taxes, movement of the homeless, disruption of traffic on occasion etc etc so they're just a family of celebrities to them.

The idea of royalty is one that resonates with almost all when growing up, many simply don't grow out of it.

Some Americans are just interested in history, society, world government. This is not the same as wanting to have a royal family.

Which royal family? I'd take the King of the Netherlands over DT anytime.

Which royal family is that? There are many. Some people are fascinated by the royal family of Brunei Darussalam, for example. Because of family ties to inlaws, I'm particularly interested in the royal family in Sweden. Others are infatuated with the royal family in Monaco. Who wouldn't be? Princess Charlene is smashing! Princess Alexandra of Hanover is quite the box too.

Its usually just women that care so much. I guess every chick has some dream of being a princess one day and having a royal wedding. Women eat that crap up.
