Will Prince Philip be fitting snow chains to his new Land rover? Will he venture out to the shops in a blizzard?

Snow chains on a 4 X 4? Hum. They are legal in the UK provided there is sufficient snow covering not to cause damage to the road. It turns out that the 'new' car is only new to him - if you'd looked at the condition of the tyres it was obvious that this wasn't a brand new car but probably from the Royal Fleet of vehicles.

One hopes that One doesn't venture out in a blizzard!!

He will venture out driving by himself, no matter the weather. This is because he doesn’t want anyone with him to see him drive to the chambermaid’s cottage to have a bit of hanky panky.

It's apparently not new, dear. It was sent down from Balmoral. Evidently, they have a whole collection of them up there.

Isn't one of the points of four-wheel-drive vehicles like Land Rovers that they don't need wheel chains in the snow?

No, He will have hairdryers fitted to the front. His new Land Rover has all the extras.
