I see no reason why Meghan and Catherine NEED to be friends. Many wives of brothers aren't that, although most would just make some effort to get along if only for the sake of their husbands. Having been 'close' to Harry before Meghan appeared on the scene I have no doubt that both Catherine and William have, as has been suggested, some concern for Harry and his future with his wife.
