I prefer many smaller ones. Larger ones tend to be more raw in the middle.

Well they taste different. Smaller cakes have more "cooked" taste and the larger...more batter taste. So...I like them both...but the smaller are easier to eat and I like the taste a bit more. Certainly easier to make.
