Why do people think the carbon taxes and limitations will be bad for the fossil fuel industry?

Surely we have learnt by now- the oil barons won't lose out, they'll be just as rich by passing on the cost to the customer- who would be the real victims of carbon policies if this nonsensical CO2 scare can sustain itself for much longer.

It won’t be bad for them. It will be bad for the people when electricity costs more than a mortgage.

People should learn about CarbFix which is a better solution than taking tax on pollutants.

The cost of the carbon taxes would most likely be passed on to the customer but what you do is lower the income tax in conjunction, this will give people the encouragement to seek renewable sources if they want to pay less.

However we need to do much more than that to avert catastrophe, CO2 concentration is now higher than its ever been in human history and last time it was this high sea levels were 20 meters higher.

Economics tells us that the taxed item either can't pass all the tax on and/or demand falls. Otherwise the price with tax would be the price now, why not charge that higher price right now?
