Traveling to Italy. Is there a limit to how many cigarettes you are allowed to bring back to the U.S?

    200 cigarettes duty free. You can bring back more but you have to pay duty

    Usually two bricks (cartons) is the limit. After that, you're smuggling.

    Yes. 200 cigarettes. You can bring in that much duty-free for personal use. If you want to bring in more, you need to apply for a permit.
