Please, have a good computer recommendation?

Hi, I'm looking for a new laptop for the school year and I figured I could ask some real people for some ideas.

I need it to be:

- Fast (or not suuuper laggy, anyway)

- Able to multitask decently

- Around or under 300$

- Possibly able to download and run a game, like League of Legends or something.

Any help is appreciated! Even if you warn me away from a certain model or brand.

Best way to go about it is to bring your cash to a reputable computer store and pick the most sleek looking laptop you can afford from either Dell, Lenovo or Asus. Now if you're into form before function, also see HP. They're all reliable brands but with the last one, in my experience, they heat up faster.

All laptops are fast when newly bought. It's what you put into it that makes it lag. Then again, you said you're looking for a school laptop and yet you're mentioning games. Kind'a conflict of interest there but hey, it's your computer, your grades and your life, right?

Just remember, if the laptop gets hot under your palms, turn it off at once. Once a laptop overheats, it's all downhill from there already.

A decent laptop that ll run smoothly would be roughly $400 from Acer.

An entry level laptop with a dedicated graphics chip would be $549 from Acer. Check the Aspire E series for that one. Everything else is over $650.

When you buy a computer you really pay for 2 things, the chip and the graphics card. Stuff like memory is cheap, so dont cut corners there because they have a good payoff. Get 8 or 12 ram, but most will have 8 today anyways. If you want a high end graphics for gaming them you will pay up as stated. No computer today is necessarily "laggy" as long as you arent short on ram. Since you are looking at low end for $300 just try to get a low end HP or Dell is what I would recommend. (I'm not a fan of buying any china company especially when it comes to stuff like computers or important security related stuff etc).

To be able to run games your pc needs ram, processor power and a decent+ graphics card. Which you probably won’t get for under 300$.

I’ve heard good reviews on the Lenovo yogas for college-goers partially the Yoga 510. It has decent specs all round and should be fast enough to run simple games like minecraft on low settings and league.

Don’t expect to run a game like fortnite or grand theft auto on a laptop under 1500-2000.
