You know the old thing about fish not knowing they're swimming in water? Trump's mind is so self-serving and hidebound after all these decades of self-worship that he doesn't realize what dunce he is. He just sees it as the way to be. Trump will tell any lie shamelessly, even lies he makes up on the spot. Then if someone says 'I'm not sure I believe that', he attacks them as only trying to destroy him. I think at one time he saw this as a good business tactic, but he's been doing it so long I think he really believes his lies! He said it, so it must be true! What have you got against TRUTH?
Many of us, probably most of us, have had one or two huge failures in our lives. We've all gone through the stages of post-failure grief--denial, anger, depression, acceptance, etc. And the horrible emotional disruption of a big life-disturbing failure has helped us avoid such failures in the future. We learn from our mistakes, hopefully, and we learn the most from the biggest mistakes!
But not Trump! He lost hundreds of millions on one venture, he CLAIMED he'd done very well, and he went on to the next ill-advised failure. The casinos, the airline, the vodka, the steaks, the magazine, etc. etc. To this day he's never admitted, perhaps even to himself, that ANY of these failures was even a failure! Consequently he lost more than a billion dollars. Even today many of his assets are just bleeding money. He can't let us look at his financial records because he feels what they'd show--his many big failures--is a LIE! And now he can't admit he's failing as president! He has NO idea how to run a presidential administration and he can't listen to anyone else, so he doesn't even know what he'll do tomorrow or next week. He's trying to head off a recession by simply insisting, over and over, that there IS no recession, and brutally attacking anyone who says otherwise.
After he's out of the White House, he'll believe, and insist, for the rest of his life, that he saved America, that he got us out of the horrible mess the Muslim Kenyan got us into, that he Made America Great Again. Interviewers will ask 'What do you think was your biggest failure as president?' and he'll say 'Not sticking up for myself enough. Not pointing out my great successes.'

He will probably vote for him next time.

Trump raves about being "the chosen one." He's always sniffling. His pupils are often dilated. I think the stress of the job made him an addict.
