What is the best way to delete a computer virus?

Run an antivirus product from a flash drive or an optical disc. There are plenty of free ones which include directions to install on a flash drive/CD and free software to write an ISO. Create the drive on a different computer.

Buy trusted antivirus software. Go wipe that virus out then.

First u should use an antivirus and run a scan... let it do for u.. if ur not able to do it then u can just delete the file which u think has a virus or u can use System restore option.. doing that will retore ur computer to a previous point when it wasnt infected with virus...

Whip the drive with a new copy of windows

First of all install an anti-virus for it to locate where that virus is. if it couldn't find it search for what u had recently installed and delete it. if you're not able to find it that emans the app has either changed it's name or made a daughter file in ur pc. but the antivirus should work

A virus is just a program and deleting is all that is necessary. The problem is that programs can install themselves in multiple places so when you think you have deleted it, there is enough left to reinstall itself. While antivirus companies study viruses so that they can figure out where all parts of a virus are stored, new viruses that they haven't yet studied keep popping up. Some people don't even realize keeping their virus definitions updated is about adding detection for those new viruses. Some viruses, once infection occurs cannot be removed in the ordinary way or not at all by some antivirus programs. Worse case scenario, not only wipe a hard drive but rewrite the whole drive with zeros. It also seems like it would be a good idea to web surf with a virtual machine that can simply be deleted when infected and a clean virtual machine reloaded in no time at all.
