    If a serving is 165 calories then the number of calories per piece is 165/4

    If there are "x" pieces consumed, then the total number of calories is:

    C = (165/4)x (answer B)

    ----

    How many pieces of candy are in the bag if the entire bag has 1,485 calories?

    We have an expression for the number of calories in one piece (165/4) so divide the total number of calories by this to get the number of candies in the bag:

    1485 / (165/4)

    1485 * (4/165)

    9 * 4

    36 pieces in the bag.

    conversion factor

    4 candies = 165 calories( 165 calories / 4 candies ) ==>this conversion factor can be multiplied by the number of candies to get the total amount of caloriesand

    ( 4 candies / 165 calories  ) ==> this conversion factor can be multiplied by the amount of calories to get the total number of candies

    part 1:

    ( 165 calories / 4 candies ) is chosen.

    ANSWER: B

    c = ( 165/4 )x

    part 2:

    ( 4 candies / 165 calories )  is chosen

    C = ( 4/165)x

    C = ( 4/165 )( 1485 )

    C = 36 candies
