I honestly don't think the media would turn down playing up any mass shooting as a reason to regulate/ban guns, whatever their political views. I think the media was more occupied with the Dem Primaries, the coronavirus, the stock market, and whatever the stupid thing of the day that Trump does.
It is true the media up-plays when a gunman is some racist/white supremacist, but given that Trump regularly refuses to criticize white supremacist and racist behaviors, they probably have a right to. Trump and the right wing media were pretty silent in the recent german mass killing by a dude who wrote a whole racist manifesto.
I also love how that article wants soooo desperately wants to make him a liberal by trying to connect him with his wife's liberal social media posts and pictures of her with Elizabeth Warren. I now plenty of couples where the husband and wives don't always see eye-to-eye. And even if he did support Warren, unlike Trumps obvious hatred of Muslims and people of color in general and his silence on the acts of white supremacists, I am pretty sure that nothing Elizabeth Warren has said nothing that would encourage someone to engage in a mass shooting.
