Depends on the vehicle. EVs tend to have fewer moving parts which don't have to deal with enough explosive force to push a car several thousand times a second.

hard question , they do require some maintanence , like how long do tyres last , replacement batteries every couple of years , basically they cost more to maintane , your forget the little things like breaks , wipers , globes , the wear out.Answer would be yes.

Yes, less maintenance required. No oil changes, no transmission fluid (no transmission at all to break!), no coolant changes or additions because there's no radiator. It's pretty cool.

    Source(s): We have a 5 year-old Tesla, and it's been a really cool experience.

Sort of, because they are disposable.

You may get 8 years trouble free use out of one, then it just isn't worth replacing the batteries as it will cost as much as 3/4 the new vehicle cost.

Therefore it is almost worthless after 8 years and only scrap value at 10 years.

It might give you 8 years of "green" transport, but you still need to supply the power (usually at night when solar energy is not available), so that power will be from Nuclear power or Coal - a long way away, and there are transmission losses to get that power to you. Then you have to scrap the batteries.

    Less maintenance than what?

Full electrics are relatively simple although you still have brakes and wheel bearings, window risers, windshield wipers, accessories . . . all the little things that can require attention in any car plus replacement of batteries in the long run.

Hybrids, of course, have BOTH electric car and internal combustion engine parts - MORE maintenance than a conventional car.

ADDED:  2 thumbsdown???  Really??  Do you not know what a "hybrid" car is???  Is your brain so misconnected that you cannot extrapolate that a car with all the parts of a conventional car PLUS all the parts of an electric car has more parts to fail/maintain that a conventional car or electric car????   Aren't there any people on YAnswers who have completed more than the 3rd grade?????  Why can the idiots just keep their mouths shut about things they know nothing about ????????????????????

No and yes.  They face significantly less wear in general, but when there is a maintenance issue, there's generally a lot more to do to perform the repairs.
