Can't get Windows Media Player to burn?

I have downloaded songs and moved them to windows media player. I put in the disk and closed it. The green light goes on and off but I don't hear anything and the media player says "insert a disk. I push burn and a box says please insert a disk

in CD drive. So it's not detecting the CD.

    probably a faulty CD drive.

    WMP is not the best program to Burn Music.  I use an old program that still works.

    CDBurnerXP.     Nothing to do with the operating system XP. That is just it's name.

    It is free and works very well on Windows 7/8/10
