Derbyshire police hunt lorry driver for kissing woman on cheek as a 'thank-you' gesture. Did it cause her a 'lot of stress'?

The panic over the kiss was bad enough - but thank goodness the driver didn’t call her 'dearie' or 'love.'  Find him now, before he strikes again in the times we're in.

If it happened and she says it did cause her stress then it did.

Although I very much doubt she reported it as a sexual assault, more like she's more concerned about catching this virus, and in one sense with her being in her 70's I can't say as I blame her.

But that's the police for you today, they must see sexual assaults and verbal hate crimes everywhere, whereas in the past they would have seen people doing, saying and arguing about stupid things.

I wonder if anybody has told the police that some people from time to time, do, say and argue about stupid things, I wonder.

    He shouldn't have kissed her.

If it’s in the Daily Mail then it’s crap.

Ordinarily I'd dismiss this as nonsense but the portion of the article that says the following is key here

"'The incident left the woman, who is in her 70s, very distressed, especially at a time when close contact with strangers is to be avoided."

I can understand that she was very distressed, there's a deadly virus going around and people are being told to stay away from one another.  Although the intentions of the man were clearly positive and he is probably fit and well, the lady (and indeed the chap) cannot know that for sure, he could be asymptomatic.

On the flip side, why wasn't she shielding?  She's in the high-risk age group, she should still be indoors.

The police appeal shouldn't have mentioned anything about sexual assualt as that's a load of tosh but the driver clearly needs to be reminded of the social distancing measures so if the police remind him hopefully he won't forget it.

Shows their priorities. Report a burglary and see what happens.

Kissing on the cheek won't pass the virus to you, if however it were kissing on the mouth, then that would be a worry!

I would not like it, he could have infected her with the virus.

Any other time, yes, today No.

How ridiculous the Police have obviously got nothing better to do. The stupid woman should be charged with wasting Police time.
