Depeche Mode: Sixth June (listen to "Drowning")
Nirvana: Aquefrigide (listen to "Ago primavera")
The Jesus and Mary Chain: Galaxie 500 (listen to "Flowers")
Tom Waits: Vinicio Capossela (listen to "Il ballo di San Vito")
The Cure: Soft Kill (listen to "Grandview"), Clan of Xymox (listen to "Vixen in disguise")
* "The end" by Soror Dolorosa look very reminiscent of early U2
** no one look like as The Police on this planet
*** other depeche mode suggestions: Cold Cave's "Confetti", Ulver's "Russian doll"

I will warn you that you are probably already familiar with most of these... Some of these are similar to the ones you named in this question, but I think you might like some of them even if they aren't that similar. One of the reasons I'm naming a song after some of these is so that it's easier to find their music when you search them, but for some of them I don't like a lot of their songs, but I do like the one that I named. Or I don't think that you will like a lot of their songs, but I think you will like the one I named.
