Does it look ok to wear Cowboy Boots to an office job?

I work in an office and our dress code is business casual. So for men: Khaki pants, dress slacks, dress or decent casual(i.e boat shoes) shoes, Polo shirt or button down shirt.  I don't live in Texas, I'm in the mid-west.  Would it look ok to wear a pair of plain black or tan cowboy boots?  I just want to try something different.

They are fine. I wore cowboy boots with a suit when I was in sixth form, and also with a tailcoat to a wedding

Yes but you have to be in tip top shape or you will look like some cowboy wanna be

If the dress code reads "dress or decent casual shoes," then, no, they're not okay. Sorry.

Those will look fine, in fact they not even notice or if they do you might get a complement.

Why not just ask your employer?

In real fact, most of the boot will be inside your trouser leg, so it isn't much of a question really is it.

Try "something different" on your own time. Wearing things like this to the workplace, unless you work in a stockyard or at a rodeo or at a nightclub, may get you fired.
