Why is it that even though we did nothing to give ourselves life, we somehow think our life belongs to us and so easily ignore our Creator?
Our every breath is a gift, yet we go our own way. Why do we seem to think we can function as intended apart from the One who designed us and breathed life into us?
Why would we think ourselves good enough for heaven on our own, without the Spirit of God, when His most important commandment in His Word is to love Him with all our heart, mind and soul?
And why would we ignore our Father God’s amazing love and grace towards us in sending His beloved Son Jesus to save us from sin, reconcile us back to Himself and give us His Spirit?Isaiah 53 But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities;the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed.6 We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to our own way; and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all.
How can we not see knowing Him is everything - that He is eternal life?
@ Mastering - what could you give to God that didn’t come from Him in the first place? What could He owe you?
@ Pyriform - really, you don’t see any sign?
@ Nous - The reason I asked “why is it that we...” (rather than you) is because I’ve done the same thing. I’m not asking this question out of hate to condemn anyone - not by any means - but because I love people and want to help them see they were created to know God and that knowing Him is everything.
@yesmar - hmmm, I don’t know - are our lives ours or borrowed? Or is it that life/breath is shared with us by God in whom we live and move and have our being?
By the way, sorry guys if my questions came across angry as Nous must have read it - it’s not meant to be. It started with me wondering why it’s so easy to wake up and take for granted that I’m breathing, and forget to thank God even though without Him I wouldn’t exist, let alone be breathing - then the other questions followed from that.

Some good points there, neighbor, but our lives do belong to us. If they are not ours, then they were never given in the first place, just loaned.

My body moved on it's own one time, actually several times, but there was this one time that really surprised me because I felt an Aura around my body and immediately my body began to do yoga like movements for more than a minute. Also, I was able to heard the spirit world for a long time at a certain point in my life, about 4-5 years ago. So I agree that someone created us.

Because people like you rant and rave and DRIVE people away from God. Your imagined belief and fervour shows you are a pretend Christian and that the problem is not anything to do with atheists, God, Jesus, the bible, or even Christianity and all to do with the intolerance, hatred, bigotry, homophobia and persecution posted by BAD Christians Like YOU towards others‽
ALL the other religions and atheists live in peace and are ONLY attacked by BAD Christians LIKE YOU which causes all GOOD Christians to despair at the damage they do!
The self-destruction of Christianity is underway and the only thing that can stop it is to abandon the terrible human emotions, seek to rediscover the idea of a loving god and act like it!
BAD Christians not only drive people further away from God but are the reason so many DECENT people are becoming ANTI THEISTS!
Pew News reports Christianity is shrinking with a corresponding rise in atheism!
Five times as many Americans in 2014 said they never prayed compared to those asked the same question in the 1980s
"Beware of practicing your righteousness before men to be noticed by them; otherwise you have no reward with your Father who is in heaven. -Mat 6:1
Treat a man as he appears to be, and you make him worse. But treat a man as if he were what he potentially could be, and you make him what he should be. Johann Wolfgang von Goethe
Christianity is not about hating others but about worshiping the LOVING GOD!!!!!!!

We can easily ignore what you call our creator, because he shows no sign of existing.
Edit:
No, I really don't.

How can you state you didn't do anything to get it? Maybe you did a lot but just can't remember.
