    North Carolina is a lovely state to live in, but it's true that there isn't as much tourist stuff there as there is in California and Washington- especially Seattle. There are beaches and mountains, nice scenery, and some small cities.

    Do you mean Washington state or DC? WA, NC, and CA are all huge stats with a variety of places to go to. I recommend California, especially San Francisco or Santa Cruz. Seattle would be good too. DC is a good city if you're into government history. Nothing to see in North Carolina.
