If I just change the  Plug ( Computer in) can I use any  19.5V  65W charger ? ?

 I have an old Lenovo think pad that the charger is dead..... and an old Dell latitude replacement charger 19.5 V 4.62 A ? that works. But the in/ computer plugs dont correspond , But they are both + center pin? If I just cut off and change the two plugs  will i risk screwing up my Lenovo ?

Update:

 The dead Lenovo is  3.25A . The Dell charger doesn't have any W marked on it.

    the amps can be higher, but not lower.

    but the voltage needs to be pretty darn close...

    otherwise, it doesn't matter what brand it was for, as long as the barrel fits snugly.

    A Lenovo Thinkpad power adapter is 20V.That is why the power pin is different. Do not use it get a proper one

    voltage must also match between charger and laptop's requirements

    Ideally, volts-out should match but when desperate, cut and change plug, then try. You know there is a risk you'll fry the laptop.

    The voltage must be equal to the original, the Amperage, can be a little higher.

    How many amps? I wouldn't risk it if you don't KNOW.
