Should I talk to my girlfriends family after they found our inappropriate messages ?

So my ex girlfriend and I have been talking for a few weeks and are in the process of getting back together. But this morning, her mom and sister found our text messages on her MacBook and they found out about our “inappropriate” messages. She sent me a message before they blocked me that they found out and that if she didn’t text me back that was why. I’m obviously upset because I love this girl and want to be with her, and so I was thinking of driving to her house and apologizing to her mom and sister for it. Is that a good thing or bad ? Any advice ?

Update:

By “inappropriate”, I meant sexual messages. And another side note, her mom is pretty religious and both of my gf’s sisters had kids right after high school, so I would assume that’s a big reason why they freaked out

Talk with your GF before you do that.

Try talking to her. It wasn't their place to go around reading her private messages and they're stupid for blocking you. She was messaging back so for them to block you is ridiculous you're not the problem its on both ends not one or the other person. Apologize for the messages even if you dont mean it because thats gonna help you be able to talk to her again maybe.

Sometimes you can let things linger and linger and linger hoping that it will just go away. Often times, though, your brain wont let you forget about what was done. That you had enough of a concern to type out this question is proof that this probably wont go away until you address it. I think you should. Set your mind free and at ease. Theres a good chance that they will be just as embarrased as you are about it and will just dismiss it before much is said about it. Older adults were once kids, too, although maybe without the technology we have today. So maybe the Mother, who is the important one here and not really the Sister, will just laugh it off because she was once wilder, too. I think that this could turn into something cute and humorous. Who knows? It could even become something you are good naturedly kidded about in the future. So anyhow, I think you should have that talk and let the thought free.

Without knowing what you posted there is no way to answer this.  "Inappropriate" can mean a lot of things.
