UK Question?

As the government are weekly handing out £15.00 food parcels to feed school children. do they ask the parents what happened to the child allowance they receive each week for their children? A family with three children get £48.95 a week, what are they spending that on if they are not feeding their children?

Free School Meals are in addition to any other allowance. As they are not provided when schools are closed the food box is the alternative. Like any commercial suppliers the stated costs are out of all proportion to the value of the commodity and includes the administration distribution adn implementation of the scheme as  overheads.

The £15.00 is the school lunch allowance children would have got if they were attending school. As schools have been closed, the government is still providing those lunches to children in either voucher or food hamper form.
