If DC becomes a state, why do they get an enforceable fence, but the other states can't ?

Why do they need a fence or a wall if they "don't work" as they have been telling us for the last 4 years? DC is a city, it should not be made into a city state. It already lies within a state.

    'Cause, they're Democrats.

I think the fence surrounding the Capitol should be electrified to keep the insurrectionists at bay.

The White House sits in Presidents Park and while technically in DC operates under separate management. No one's proposed erecting a fence around the entire city of DC...but I'm sure that's being discussed.
