Is it weird to get a visit from Gardai detectives in Ireland?
Yesterday, a black car stopped outside my house. Two men dressed in business attire got out of the car and rang my doorbell.
They said they were Gardai detectives and doing a check on me. They showed a badge, took my phone number and left.
They didn't say why they came. What might that be about?

Did you recently come to Ireland? Are you supposed to be quarantining? If so, they were checking up on you, to make sure you weren't violating your quarantine and putting other people at risk of catching the Covid.
Yes, they can do that now.
