Washing the dog?

How often if ever do you wash your dog? Given how much they love mud, cow pats and jumping in all kinds of mud is there any point?

Once a month, or once every 2 months. Depends on how stinky he gets. And yes, there is a point. The dirt will collect and get down to their skin and can cause all sorts of problems if you let it go for too long. In the winter, he's not rolling around in the dirt, but dead skin and all that will still get into his fur. He needs it washed away.

Maybe once a year for my Chihuahua.  Usually he rolls around on dry ground or dirty pavement when he is on walls.   No point in bathing him every time he rolls on the ground.
