Where do I see a video of today's Mars landing?

What I do NOT want to see:

- a video of a bunch of people talking

- a "artist's rendition" (simulation) video

I've looked for more than half an hour

and can't find a video that actually shows any of the actual landing.

I would expect to see at least

from a camera mounted on the lander

a video of the approach of the lander to the Mars surface.

I find no such thing.

Is it not yet available?

Not even the JPL crew was able to see live video, they best they got was text sent by the spacecraft 20 light-minutes away, followed by a black-and-white still picture from the don't-run-over-rocks camera. That's why the broadcast showing the position of the spacecraft was an animation based on the schedule.

The good stuff, including video, was recorded and stored on the lander until it can be sent at modem speeds. It'll take a while.

The news crew that was supposed to go to Mars to film the landing got reassigned to cover the snowstorms and blackouts in Texas and Ted Cruz's junket to Cancun.

That video is still on Mars. It has not yet been sent to earth. The rover had to much to do during landing. It recorded the video and pictures. It will send them to us soon.

As there was no camera on the ground filming the approaching Rover, never.

NASA will post those videos *** soon as they edit out all the technical stuff that would bore a knothole.

Check NASAs video schedules over the next couple days.

There were a number of video cameras on Mars2020 recording the EDL.  At this afternoons news conference NASA/JPL indicated they will be processing that video over the weekend and hope to have some to show on Monday.  I would expect that to be available on a large number of space related websites, such as spaceflightnow.com.

If you could post your email, I will send you a black-and-white drawing of it. I guarantee this will not be a rendition. I don't even know what a rendition is, so it's definitely not it.
