What's a surefire way to win in vegas?

It seems like the buffalo machines are a guarantee. Any other ideas?

SImple - don't gamble.  Take adantage of everything else hotel casinos offer, but if you don't gamble, you've won

The casinos do not tell you this, BUT - the black jack dealers have to keep taking cards until they have 17,  and then they have to stop. So you aim for ONE POINT BETTER.  You just keep drawing cards until you have 18 and then you stop.    You therefore have the edge on the dealer, and will consistently win on the blackjack table.

There is no guaranteed way to win. The house always has the advantage.

No idea what a "buffalo" machine is, but if there were a surefire way to win, do you think we'd tell you-- or that we'd be on the next plane to Vegas?  The odds in every game are with the house. An individual can get lucky at the slots, or use skill at the blackjack and poker tables, but the vast majority of people will end up losing some money. If that weren't true, Vegas wouldn't exist.

The casinos didn't become as big and profitable as they are by giving away money...

@Mr. Smartypants, owning a casino is not a surefire way of making money.  Look at Trump and the Taj Mahal in Atlantic City.  That's a great lesson on how even a cashcow can go horribly wrong.

EDIT: @ Ludwig, casinos DO tell you what the rules of Blackjack are.  The table even has it written directly on it ( Dealer hits on 16, stays on 17, or if, applicable, hits on soft 17 ).  I've even heard players asking other players at the table, the dealer and/or pit boss, and/or consulting a strategy card during play and all of this is allowed.  The player does not have the edge over the dealer because the players can only see one of the dealer's 2 cards.  You therefore assume the dealer has a 10 under and base your strategy on that.  But even if you play perfectly ( according to basic strategy ) the house, not the player, has the advantage.

There is no way. If you are a genius such as an engineer or physicist you could calculate the odds of the roulette wheel and bet on that. No other way, the real geniuses don’t go to Vegas...

The only surefire way to win in Vegas is to open your own casino.  The odds are always on the house's side.  You ought to know that!
