Why does the American media force-feed us the daily details of the UK royal family?
Im so sick of hearing about William, the queen, Harry blah blah blah. All of it is so boring.
American blacks follow the royals? I dont know what polls you're watching. I would definitely challenge that. lol I would say the demographics would be closer to middle class white women.

Because some of us like it. I love all of it and have followed them for a long time. You do not have to watch it, it's known as turning the page or changing the channel. If you dislike it so much why are you on the Royalty section of Yahoo Answers???

It sells. Nature abhors a vacuum. We don’t have our own royalty, so we use theirs.

They know what their audience likes. They wouldn't bother otherwise.
It is easy enough to avoid if you are not interested.
TV sets in the UK come with an on-off switch.

It's not "American media" so much as Netflix. They just paid Harry and Meghan 130M USD for an overall deal so it's imperative to their investment that the keep the two relevant.

They don't. I rarely see stories about them in the serious, reputable, media. Only when something notable happens.
Perhaps you need to upgrade your reading/viewing material. Apparently you look at a lot of tabloid/gossip-style media.
And, of course, no one is forcing you to read or watch anything. You can always turn the page or the channel.
Or didn't that occur to you?

Well, I personally can't get enough of the news, it fills an aching void in my heart, since HRH, Prince Harry, departed these shores for North America. He was forced out of the U.K, by the iniquitous, ever probing media; at a time when we didn't hear that much from them, but now, in the secrecy that surrounds them in the good ole U.S.A, we get almost hourly updates on their every move. Who among us cannot be overjoyed that he has finally found the normality of a normally normal life. Three cheers for the Duke of Sussex hic hic hooray Henry, hic hic hooray Henry, hic hic hooray Henry!
