How can a confined aquifer rechege or get its water?

Uphill somewhere, it is not "confined". The water can get in pretty easily, like water into the drain from a tub, but once there, it has no where to go but down, just like water in the drainpipe. Punch a hole in that pipe and it will come spraying out right there, though. No longer confined. Same thing with an aquifer.
