Can a female go to a gig alone?
I just purchased a ticket to see a popular singer in a hotel in a city suburb this Friday. No one wanted to come with me so I intended on going on my own.
I don’t know if it is safe for a female to go to a gig alone? Is that common for gig goers to go solo or in groups?

If you're female wouldn't recommend it, I did the same thing and had to move seats four times.

If you're an adult, then why not? If you're a kid, then definitely not!

You should have considered that before you purchased the ticket. However; you're going to have to make that decision for yourself. If someone else tells you to go, and something happens, you may say "if I hadn't listen to someone else this would not have happen to me". If you don't go. you may blame someone else for causing you to miss out on a good time. These are dangerous times we live in, where the unexpected happens everyday. So you should think seriously about it and make your own decision. If you go, be sure to be alert of everything and everyone around you, and don't place yourself in jeopardy by drinking or allowing yourself to be picked up by strangers. P.S. You're not going to a gig, you're going to a concert. Gig is slang for job or work, and you're not going to work.

It's possible. How safe it is depends on how safety conscious you are and rather you take risks while there.

One of our daughters used to do this. I worried for her safety, but she was always fine.
She established rules for herself. She didn't drink alcohol, although she could buy it legally at the venue. She didn't use drugs there. She didn't dress to be attractive and didn't respond to guys hitting on her. She didn't carry a purse and had only a little extra money on her. And when she left, she made sure she was among large numbers of people heading to the parking lot. Once in her car, doors locked.
Apparently when she first found her seat, she would pick a guy sitting nearby as her go-to person to ask for help if she needed it, like if some other dude was bothering her, but she never needed to actually ask.

Go! have fun. you'll have a lot in common with everybody there. you might make some new friends. enjoy yourself! and when you tell all your friends who didn't want to go, what a great time you had, they'll be impressed you went alone--and a little jealous. SWEET!
